Director of Education and Workforce Development
Jenny Ligon is the Director for Education and Workforce Development for the CBTS. Her role is to understand the workforce development requirements for DHS operational needs, interact with components for new idea development, and deliver program management and associated communication/engagement with the homeland security enterprise. Ms. Ligon’s role includes working with investigators to ensure standardized delivery of curriculum and training via a process that steps through development, piloting, deployment, and transition.
In addition to her CBTS role, Ms. Ligon is the Assistant Director of the National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing (NCTM) and the Executive Director of Workforce Development for the Center for Innovation in Advanced Development & Manufacturing (CIADM) at Texas A&M University. She is responsible for the executive and programmatic management of major sponsored research programs, as well as for public relations and business development activities related to the CIADM and the NCTM, a pharmaceutical workforce education facility located on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station, Texas. Ms. Ligon manages the development of new educational programs and outreach campaigns, including curriculum development, STEM initiatives, and subcontractor management.
Prior to joining NCTM, Ligon was Manager of External Relations for the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, a state agency specializing in technical workforce training and emergency response, where she lead new multidisciplinary initiatives and strategic business capture efforts with government and industry. Ligon received her Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Arizona, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She has fifteen years of public outreach, project management, and business development and administration experience.
