Student research opportunity in biothreat defense
The biothreat defense program of the Cross-Border Threat Screening and Supply Chain Defense, CBTS, Summer Research Institute is a paid opportunity for developing hands-on technical skills and conducting research to help provide solutions to agricultural biodefense problems related to the mission of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, DHS.
This 10-week paid internship program is for promising junior and senior undergraduate majors in science, technology engineering and mathematics, STEM. It includes:
- Hands-on laboratory work with faculty mentors
- Guest lectures
- Professional development and field trips
- Engagement with DHS
Program dates
May 30 – Aug. 4, 2023
Two locations
The program takes place primarily at Texas A&M University in Bryan-College Station, with travel to the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Weslaco.
